Total Questions: 35

1. Direction (1-5): The graph given below shows the degree distribution of total number projects (private + public) handled in 4 quarters Q-1, Q-2, Q-3 and Q-4. The table shows the percentage of private projects handled wrt projects handled in respective years.

degree distribution of total number projects

(Q-1, Q-2, Q-3, Q-4 shown in pie chart with angles marked: 100.8, 108, x°, y°)

Quarters | Percentage of private projects handle wrt total project handled

Q-1 → 3a%
Q-2 → 35%
Q-3 → 50%
Q-4 → a%

Note: Measure of central angle of pie of pie (x° + y°) is not equal to 360°. The value of x° = 21.6° more than y°. The difference between private and public projects handled in Q-2 is 108.

Ques : If the average of public project handle in Q-1 and in Q-3 is 150, then find the private project handle by Q-1 is what percentage of total project handle by Q-2?

Correct Answer: (b) 50
Solution:

We have,
100.8° + 108° + x° + y° = 360°
x° + y° = 151.2°
x° = 21.6° + y°

Solve above two equations,
129.6 = 2y°
64.8° (18%) = y° = Q4
x° = 86.4° (24%) = Q3

Q-1 = 100.8° = 28%
Q-2 = 108° = 30%

ATQ,
Let the total project in Q-2 = 100m
65m − 35m = 108
30m = 108
100m = 360

Q-2 = 108° = 30% = 360
100% = 360/30 × 100 = 1200

Total project in all the quarter = 1200

Quarters | Total project | Private project | Public project

Q-1 336
Q-2 360  126  234
Q-3 288  144  144
Q-4 216

Public project handle in Q-1 = 150 × 2 − 144 = 156
Private project handle in Q-1 = 336 − 156 = 180
Required answer = 180/360 × 100 = 50%

2. The ratio of private to public project handle in Q-4 is 3:1, then find the difference between public project handle in Q-4 and total project handle in Q-1

Correct Answer: (c) 282
Solution:

Let in Q-4 private project = 3x
and public project = x
So, 3x + x = 216
4x = 216

x = 216/4 = 54 (public project)

Required difference = 336 − 54 = 282

3. Find the total project handle in the year

Correct Answer: (a) 1200
Solution:Total project in all the quarter = 1200

4. If 60% total project handle are private projects, find the ratio of public project handle in Q-1 and Q-4 together to total project handled in Q-2.

Correct Answer: (d) 17:40
Solution:

Total public project = 40% of 1200 = 480
Public project handle in Q-1 and Q-4 together = 102
Required answer = 102:360 = 51:120 = 17:40

5. If the value of a is 16.67%, then find the public project handled in Q-1 and Q

Correct Answer: (b) 348
Solution:

We have, a = 16.67% = 1/6
So, in Q-1 = 3a% = 50%
336 × 50% = 168

In Q-4 = a% = 1/6
Private project handle = 216 × 1/6 = 36
Public project handle = 216 − 36 = 180

Required answer = 168 + 180 = 348

6. Direction (6-8): The bar graph shows the total people consumed alcoholic beverage in three different cities. The line graph shows the number of people consumed non-alcoholic beverages in each city. Table shows the data of male and female consumed alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage in each city

(Graph showing A, B, C with alcoholic bars and non-alcoholic line)

Legend:
People consumed alcoholic beverage
People consumed non alcoholic beverage

Cities | Alcoholic beverage | Non-alcoholic beverage

A
Male consumed 200 more than that of female consumed
Female consumed is 40 more than the male consumed

B
Male consumed is 66.66% of female consumed
Female consumed is 50% more than male consumed

C
Females consumed is 28.57% less than the male consumed
Male consumed is 50% of the female consumed

Ques : Find the difference between males who consumed alcoholic beverages in C and female who consumed alcoholic beverages in B.

Correct Answer: (b) 50
Solution:

In city A,
Total people = 400 + 700 = 1100
People consumed alcoholic beverage = 400

Alcoholic beverages consumed by male = (400 + 200)/2 = 300
Alcoholic beverages consumed by female = 400 − 300 = 100

People consumed non-alcoholic beverages = 700

Females consumed non-alcoholic beverages = (700 + 40)/2 = 370

Males consumed non-alcoholic beverages = 700 − 370 = 330

In city B,
Total people = 500 + 200 = 700
People consumed alcoholic beverage = 500

Alcoholic beverages consumed by male = (2/(3+2)) × 500 = 200
Alcoholic beverages consumed by female = 500 − 200 = 300

People consumed non - alcoholic beverages = 200
Females consumed non-alcoholic beverages
= 150 / (100+150) × 200 = 120

Males consumed non-alcoholic beverages = 200 − 120 = 80

In city C,
Total people = 600 + 180 = 780
People consumed alcoholic beverage = 600

Alcoholic beverages consumed by female = 5/(7+5) × 600 = 250
Alcoholic beverages consumed by male = 600 − 250 = 350

People consumed non - alcoholic beverages = 180
males consumed non-alcoholic beverages = 50/(100+50) × 180 = 60
Females consumed non-alcoholic beverages = 180 − 60 = 120

Required answer = 350 − 300 = 50

7. Find the ratio of male consumed alcoholic beverage in A and B together to female consumed non-alcoholic beverages in C.

Correct Answer: (a) 25:6
Solution:Required ratio = 300 + 200 : 120 = 500:120 = 25:6

8. The non-alcoholic beverage consumed in all the cities is what percentage of total people in all the cities?

Correct Answer: (b) 42
Solution:Consumed in all cities = 700 + 180 + 200 = 1080
Required answer = 1080 / (1100 + 700 + 780) × 100 = 42%

9. Directions (9-14): Read the following table carefully and answer the questions given below. The table given shows the profit earned by four companies in 2020 and 2021 and the difference between the profit earned in 2020 and 2021 by each company.

Companies | Profit in 2020 | Profit in 2021 | Difference between the profits in 2020 and 2021

P  3X  1600  400
Q  5X  1500  500
R  150% of X  350  250
S  900  550  87.5% of X

Note: Value of X is an integer.

Ques : The profit of company T in 2020 is equal to the sum of 20% of company P profit and 30% of company Q profit from the same year. From 2020 to 2021, the profit of company T increased by the same percentage as the profit of company P increased over the same period. Find the profit of company T in 2021.

Correct Answer: (b) Rs 1120
Solution:

The profit of company T in 2020
= 20% of 1200 + 30% of 2000
= 240 + 600 = Rs 840

Company P profit increment
= (1600 − 1200) / 1200 × 100 = 33.33%

Required answer = 840 × (100 + 33.33)% = Rs 1120

10. If the total revenue (selling price) of company T in 2020 is Rs 10000, then find the cost price (in Rs).

Correct Answer: (b) 8000
Solution:

Required profit = 10000 − 2000 = Rs 8000
