Also each has a different colour blue, green, pink, black and yellow but not necessarily in the same order. [NTPC CBT II Level 3 (14/06/2022) Shift 2]

The cube and cylinder don’t have floral design. Sphere is pink in colour. Prism has checkered design but is not yellow or black in colour. Cuboid is green in colour but doesn’t have polka dots or stripes pattern. The plain container is pink in colour. Cube has polka dots and neither blue nor black in colour. Cube, sphere, and prism have different patterns and cylinder doesn’t have a floral pattern.
So, cuboid has floral pattern.

[NTPC CBT - I 28/12/2020 (Evening)]

Find who is good at all the subjects.

Solution:

There are two students studying in J college. One is good at math and the other one is good at all subjects. Pinky is good at math so she is in J college. Tanisha is studying in A college. 14. Seven chocolates A, B, C, D, E, F and G are bought at different costs between Rs.40 and Rs.50 (excluding 40 and 50) but not necessarily in the same order. The cost of chocolate C is five less than that of chocolate E. The cost of chocolate A is a prime number. The cost of Chocolate F is two more than that of chocolate A. The cost of Chocolate F is more than that of chocolate E. The cost of chocolate D is an odd number. The cost of chocolate G is three more than the cost of chocolate D. None of the chocolates costs Rs.44. The cost of chocolate B is an even number. Which of the following chocolates is costlier than E? [NTPC CBT - I 29/12/2020 (Morning)]

Correct Answer: (c) G
Solution:

Let the prices of the chocolates A, B, C, D, E, F, G have possible values : 41, 42, 43, 45, 46, 47, 48, 49 (not necessarily in the same order) Given information, C = E - 5, F = A + 2, G = D + 3, and A = prime, D = odd, F > E > C, None is 44, B = even and G>D Considering all the above criteria we can say A can only be 47, otherwise if we take A = 41 or 43 the value of C will be less than 40. ⇒ F = A + 2 = 49
⇒ E = 46 (as F > E) C = E - 5 = 41
⇒ D = 45 (D is odd) G = D + 3 = 48
⇒ B = 42 (B is even) So, from the given options we can say G is costlier chocolate than E.

15. A team is to be selected from 13 players P1, P2, P3, P4, P5, P6, P7, P8, P9, P10, P11, P12 and P13. There will be seven players in the team. P2 cannot be selected with P1, P6 or P4. P7 cannot be selected with P2, P10, P11 or P13. If P8 and P13 both are selected, then P5 must be selected. P4 cannot be selected with P2, P6, P12 or P11. [NTPC CBT - I 05/01/2021 (Morning)]

Which of the following is a connected selection of the team?

Correct Answer: (b) P1, P3, P4, P5, P8, P9, P13
Solution:

From the given instructions, we can summarize that if P7 is in the team then P13 cannot be selected for the team, also if P4 is in the team then P2, P6, P12, P11 cannot be selected for the team. In option (a)→ P1, P3, P4, P5, P6, P8, P9 → P4 and P6 are together, so it is wrong. In option (c)→ P2, P3, P5, P7, P8, P9, P13 → P7 and P13 are together, so it is wrong. In option (d)→ P1, P6, P11, P12, P13, P3, P4 → again P4 and P6 are together, so it is wrong. Then the only option (b) which is correct, is: P1, P3, P4, P5, P8, P9, P13.

Correct Answer: (d) 46 min
Solution:

The room searched by each team = 40. Time to search 40 rooms = 40 min. In 40 min each team completed 40 rooms of two floors. And Time to take to go each floor = 1 min , For 6 floor = 6 min
Total time taken = 40 + 6 = 46 min.
